The clear alternative to braces

About Invisalign

Invisalign is the virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth and achieve the smile you've always dreamed of.

Whilst there are a number of ‘copy-cat’ alternatives now available, Invisalign has been around the longest and is at the forefront of all research, producing the best results by far.

Invisalign is also the only technique that provides every patient with a ‘Clin-Check’ which allows the predicted result to be viewed and either modified or approved by the patient before the treatment is even started, helping to achieve the result that not the dentist, but the patient desires.

How is it done?

We have over 8 years extensive experience with invisalign

Following an initial consultation, highly accurate impressions are taken and then shipped to the Invisalign laboratory in America, along with a patient-specific prescription for their technicians to follow.

Approximately 2 weeks later the Clin-Check, which is a patient-specific computer generated video, can be viewed at the practice, and the results discussed. Once approved by the patient, the aligners are then ordered and fitted approximately 2 weeks later, and further review appointments are booked around 8 – 10 weeks apart.

Once treatment is completed, the patient is issued with a set of retainers and also a custom made whitening kit.

The difference is clear

When it comes to deciding on the best treatment type for straightening your teeth, Invisalign offers depth of innovation, clinical studies and technology that can accurately control the way your teeth are straightened.

Always innovating.

Invisalign is different to traditional teeth straightening treatments. Using innovative technology that we invented and continue to evolve, Invisalign comes as a series of clear removable aligners that straighten your teeth, little by little, and unlike fixed braces, there are no wires or brackets. This means there is no metal and they are nearly invisible when you wear them.

In when you want them in. Out when you don’t.

Fixed braces can only be removed by trained professionals – this can hinder your ability to clean your teeth and gums effectively, and may limit what you can eat comfortably.
Because Invisalign aligners can be removed at any time during treatment, you can eat whatever you want, maintain good oral hygiene, and choose to remove them briefly for special occasions such as weddings or big meetings. Your lifestyle remains intact.

Look forward to your new smile.

Whatever the goals of your treatment plan, your Invisalign Provider will always give you a clearly defined Treatment Plan. They will also show you what your teeth might look like during and after the treatment with ClinCheck - our virtual 3D treatment plan.

ClinCheck shows the series of movements your teeth are projected to go through over the course of the treatment. This enables you to see what your teeth are expected to look like when the treatment is finished and monitor changes as you go.

Can Invisalign work for you?

Invisalign® treats a range of straightening issues, ranging from minor tooth movements to more complex cases. At Holly Dental in Preston, Principal Dentist Andy has over 8 years experience and excellent feedback from happy patients.

Whatever the issue, the result is a new, more even smile that you will want everyone to see.

Here are some of the straightening issues that can be treated with Invisalign:

Overcrowded teeth occur when there is a lack of room within your jaw for all of your teeth to fit normally.

Widely spaced teeth occur when you have extra space within your jaw.

Cross bites occur when the upper and lower jaws are both misaligned. It usually causes one or more upper teeth to bite on the inside of the lower teeth, and can happen on both the front and/or the sides of the mouth.

Deep bites occur when the upper teeth overlap significantly with the lower teeth.

Under bites occur when the lower teeth protrude past the front teeth, usually caused by undergrowth of the upper jaw, overgrowth of the lower jaw, or both.

Treatment process

A treatment plan made for you

Before a treatment plan can be created, Andy will take an impression of your teeth to check whether they can be straightened using the Invisalign System. Once confirmed, a detailed treatment plan will then be developed using ClinCheck®  - the specialist virtual 3D treatment plan. ClinCheck shows the series of movements your teeth are projected to go through over the course of the treatment – so you can see how your teeth are expected to look at the end of your Invisalign treatment before it even begins.

Smiling every step of the way

When you begin your Invisalign treatment, you will wear each set of custom-made aligners in two-week increments. As you progress through the series of aligners, your teeth will begin moving, little by little, gradually moving towards the projected final position.

During this time you will have occasional check-ups with Holly Dental in order to monitor your progress and ensure you are comfortable with the treatment

Designed to fit your lifestyle

The time it takes to complete the treatment varies from person to person, depending on the complexity of each straightening issue. It is important to speak with Andy to determine how Invisalign best suits your situation and goals, and to agree the best way forward for you.

Real stories

I had been conscious of my gappy smile for as long I could remember and really wanted to do something about it. But, as a teacher, I’m under the constant scrutiny of young children, so as you can imagine, fixed braces just weren’t an option for me.

When my sister told me she was getting married and asked me to be a bridesmaid I was equal parts thrilled and terrified. I was dreading the pictures – all those people looking at my crooked teeth. On such an important day, I really wanted to look my best and be able to smile with confidence, without worrying about my teeth.
